Infrastructure/Transportation
  Business and industry in Warwick are served by well-coordinated intermodal transportation facilities. The state’s strategic location within the densely populated Northeast provides significant regional market opportunities and relatively easy access to Canadian and European markets.

Amtrak
Amtrak serves Providence on the Washington-Boston line with high speed and commuter service to Boston, New York and Washington, DC. Also, construction is about to begin on Warwick Station located adjacent to T.F. Green Airport. This will allow easy access for airline passengers to trains from the closest passenger rail line to a major airport in the country. Currently, MBTA trains provide commuter rail service from Providence to Boston, and will soon be providing service from Warwick to Boston.

Highways: Bringing the Region Closer
In Warwick, it’s easy to get around. Two of the state’s main Interstates pass through Warwick. Interstate 95, the principal north/south route on the East Coast, also connects with direct routes to the Midwest, while Interstate 295 serves industrial and residential areas around the core cities. Just minutes from Warwick, is Interstate 195 which links Providence with southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.

  • Providence – 15 minutes
  • Boston – 1 hour and 10 minutes
  • Hartford/New Haven – 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Worcester – 55 minute
  • New York - 3 hours 12 minutes

Foreign Trade Zone No. 105
The US Department of Commerce Foreign Trade Zone Board has designated an area of Warwick as part of the Rhode Island Foreign Trade Zone #105. The site is located at the Airport Business Center, adjacent to the T.F. Green Airport. The Foreign Trade Zone offers savings in storage and reshipping of commodities and manufactured products.
